Sandra Bullock is proving she’s just like everyone else, jumping on Instagram and instantly having fun, playfully trolling her friends. The “Practical Magic” star officially joined Instagram, and her first moments online are already winning over fans.

After years of staying away from social media, the Oscar winner quietly launched an account and quickly revealed a playful side, engaging with friends in a way that felt both unexpected and unmistakably her.

One of her first interactions was a playful nod to Channing Tatum, her co-star from “The Lost City.”

After a fan account resurfaced quotes from his 2024 GQ interview about buying a year’s worth of shirts to avoid doing laundry, Bullock chimed in with a teasing response.

“Of course you did.”

The moment felt easy and familiar, capturing the kind of lighthearted banter the two have shared off-screen and setting a warm, playful tone for her social media debut.

Under a video of Jennifer Aniston styling Jason Bateman’s hair, she joked, “Me next mama? Going for a witchy look…”

Her return to “Practical Magic 2” seemed to peek through as well. Reacting to a video shared by Nicole Kidman, she wrote, “we’re so back.”

She also shared a playful, inside moment with Joey King, commenting, “My blood. Your blood. Our blood. iykyk.”

A Shift After Years Away From Social Media

Bullock’s arrival on Instagram feels all the more surprising given how firmly she had stayed away from social media for years.

In a previous statement published by People, she addressed the rise of impersonation accounts, clarifying her stance. “Please be aware that I do not participate in any form of social media,” she said, warning about “any accounts pretending to be me or anyone associated with me.”

She had also been refreshingly honest about her hesitation to join in the first place.

“Oh god, I would have one glass of rosé,” she said in an earlier interview, as quoted by PureWow, adding “and be spouting off like [slurs voice], ‘This is not the truth!’”

Even then, she was not entirely removed from the digital world.

“I’m not ignorant of what’s happening out there,” she added. “I look over people’s shoulders, going, ‘What is that little vignette of a cat on a fan?’ I’m just lazy.”

Now, with her playful debut unfolding, that long-held distance only makes her arrival feel more genuine and a little more fun.
