Calvin Harris Sets Guinness World Record for Largest Single-Artist DJ Crowd in History

Calvin Harris has officially broken the Guinness World Records title for the largest attendance for a DJ set by a single artist, following a performance in São Paulo, Brazil, on February 8. An estimated 1.6 million people gathered for the massive show, making it the biggest crowd ever assembled for a solo DJ set.
The scale of the event transformed the heart of the city into a sprawling open-air festival. Harris performed from a high-powered carnival float moving down Rua da Consolação, converting one of São Paulo’s main arteries into a giant dancefloor. His setlist featured a continuous run of his biggest hits, including the Rihanna-led “This Is What You Came For,” “One Kiss,” “I Need Your Love,” and “We Found Love.” To mark his first performance in Brazil in over ten years, Harris paid tribute to local culture by wearing a custom Brazil soccer jersey featuring “Calvinho” printed on the back above the number “00.”
Guinness World Records formally verified the record title following the official attendance headcounts.
“Calvin Harris has spent years creating music that brings people together, so to see that reflected on this scale is really quite remarkable,” said Will Munford, Official Guinness World Records Adjudicator in a press statement. “An estimated 1.6 million people came out to be part of his performance in São Paulo, which is an extraordinary achievement and a testament to the global reach of his music.”
